Little Daily is run by Marcello Delcaro (Modul4r), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Questions and requests: marcello@modul4r.com.
Without an account
Your page settings, chosen city, sign, Little Me, kept quotes, and puzzle progress stay in your browser's local storage. We do not receive them. Clearing your browser data deletes them, and they do not move to another browser.
To show weather, your browser sends our server the rounded position of your chosen city (about one kilometre). Our server asks MET Norway for the forecast. MET Norway sees our server, not you. On your first visit, our host tells our server a rough position for your internet connection. We use it once to suggest a nearby city and do not store it. If you use “Use my location”, your browser shares your position only after you allow it, and we round it the same way.
With a free account
An account stores your email address, your page settings, your Little Me, and your kept quotes, so they follow you to other devices. We use your email only to send sign-in links and essential account notices. Signing in never subscribes you to marketing.
Sign-in links work once and expire after 15 minutes. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each link. A session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 90 days.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel (United States) hosts the site and keeps short request logs.
- Neon (database on Amazon Web Services, United States) stores accounts and page settings.
- Freeform, a form and email service operated by Delcaro Media on Amazon Web Services in Canada, sends sign-in emails and delivers contact and feedback messages.
- MET Norway receives rounded city positions from our server, never your identity.
- OpenRouter, NVIDIA, and Fireworks AI receive only sky numbers and our own draft text to write horoscopes. They never receive any visitor or account data.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada. Their laws can allow local authorities to access it.
Analytics and marketing
Little Daily runs no analytics, advertising, or session-recording tools today. If we add analytics, it will load only after you opt in through Cookie Settings, and this policy will list it first.
How long we keep things
- Account data: until you delete it or your account.
- Sign-in link records: expire after 15 minutes. We remove spent records within seven days.
- Email delivery records and security logs: 30 days, with the address stored only in scrambled form.
- Contact and feedback messages arrive by email. We delete them 12 months after the conversation ends.
- Database backups: kept for up to seven days, then gone.
- Published horoscopes and other editorial content: kept as part of the site, separate from any account.
Your choices
Signed in, you can download your data, sign out of every device, or delete your account from the account panel on your daily page. Deletion removes your account and page at once. Backups expire within seven days. You can also ask us by email for access, correction, or deletion. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
